Interview - Surfer James

1.Loud greetings of Perú,mate! How going the things in Surfer James?
Yo! Things are excellent! We took a little break for a couple months but we’re back at it now. Wrote two new songs tonight actually. We have a ton of gigs lined up through the end of 2019 and planning some cool shit for 2020. Hopefully hitting the road a bunch. Bone daddy approved!

2.Tell us how is form this raw band of fast powerviolence called Surfer James? Hows been the begings?
When we started jamming it was more of a hardcore band with blast beats. It took us a few months to hone in our “sound”.

3.Noisy discography of Surfer James?
Hell yeah brother!! We have two demo releases within the last year which are on bandcamp.

4.Influences at Surfer James?
Repulsion, S-21, Wound Man, Despise You, Crossed Out. Anything hardcore, powerviolence, grind inspired. We all listen to Prince too. Shout out to Moris Day and the Time though.  We watch VH1 classics while we jam. Cause why not?

5.Some members of Surfer James have another project parallel?
Yea, our guitar player and drummer are in a hardcore band called Bleacher Creature.

6.Explain some more about the actual fast hardcore powerviolence scene from your city and recommend some bands.
Uncle Ray is a cool band from Windsor that we’ve played a few shows with. Shroud, Girth, and Shit Life are excellent current bands from the Michigan area. Steamroller (RIP) was sick too! There is a great local hardcore scene as well.

7.Surfer James knows fast hardcore powerviolence scene of Southamerica?
Not much, but we want to! We do love Ratos de Porao and Errante (they did a split with our homies In Uncle Ray)

8.Stuff avaliable of Surfer James at the moment? where punxs can find the stuff?
You can find our tunes and merch on bandcamp under painters tapes out of Detroit or knochen tapes out of Europe.

9.Morbid future plans?
Playing shows, fighting racism and ignorance, hopefully a South American tour.

10.Last words and thanks for your time in this interview! PLAY FAST OR DIE!
Thanks for the interview and your interest in us. Blastbeats are free. Powerviolence is the only violence we support.
