Interview - Phrenelith

1.Rotten and twisted greetings of Perú! How are things going at Phrenelith? 
SD: Things are good in Phrenelith, we’re slowly putting the final touches to a new record, that’ll be 6 songs clocking in around 28 min, so I guess it could be considered a MLP in some way. Other than that, we’re playing some sporadic shows, including a couple of festivals this summer and our first time in Japan in October. 

2.Tell us how this infamous band of sick death metal called Phrenelith formed? 
How were the beginnings? 
SD: Phrenelith formed around late 2013 by three like-minded individuals, who’s sole purpose in life is to worship at the altar of death metal. A demo was recording and soon a bassist was recruited to complete the line-up and we started playing shows. Our beginnings were overall fun, since we were all trying out something a little new, even though we had all played in death metal bands before. Countless stories can be told about that time, but that’ll will be for a another time haha.  

3.Aperrant influences at Phrenelith? 
SD: Our influences are all our the place, but the core of it would be both old and contemporary death metal of course. We do find ideas and inspiration outside of metal, especially the lyrics come from far off places. 

4.Do some members of Phrenelith have another projects, parallel to the band? 
SD: YES! All of us has other bands that we play in parallel to Phrenelith, many in the same vein as Phrenelith, others not. 

5.Explain some more about actual putrid death metal scene from your city and recommend some bands. 
SD: The Copenhagen death metal scene seems very much alive and thriving, with bands like Deiquisitor, Taphos, Sulphurous, Chaotian and bands featuring members of Phrenelith like Undergang, Hyperdontia and Ascendency. New projects are constantly brewing, so I’m sure there’s many good things to come.      

6.Phrenelith knows evil death metal scene of Southamerica? 
SD: Of course there’s many south american bands we are aware of in both death, black, and thrash metal. A lot of good bands have originated from there through the times.

7.Stuff avaliable of Phrenelith at the moment? where maniacs can find the stuff? 
SD: We have plenty of merch available at all times since we keep making new designs and new pressings as long as there’s interest in the band. Most of our sales these days goes through Extremely Rotten Productions, but our respective labels sell some of our merch too. The band can be contacted on mail as well as through Facebook.

8.Morbid future plans? 
SD: We have the before mentioned record that will hopefully soon be recorded and put out and as soon as we finish that one, work on the next will begin right away. Other than that we have many shows planned and maybe a tour or two to a continent we have yet to play in.

Interview - Born Sick

1.Noisy greetings of Peru,Brian! How going the things at Born Sick?
Hello, No Te Calles Zine! Born Sick is doing rad, man. We are prepping for an August tour and have a split coming out on Die Laughing Records with RAW POWER from Italy!

2.Tell us how is form this destructive band of fast hardcore called Born Sick? Hows been the beginnings?
Originally the band started in 2017 and was Nate, Becky, Dee, and Ryan. We all live in Vancouver, WA. Nate and I used to play in a bunch of D-Beat and Thrash-Punk bands in Portland, OR. I joined 1 year after the band started and we put out our album “... Otherside of the Trakks” and went on our first west coast tour last fall. 

3.Releases of Born Sick?
Full length release is “... Otherside of the Trakks” which is available on all streaming platforms or for sale through BandCamp. We have the Raw Power split coming out in July 2019 called “Sick with Power”. It’s going to be two brand new songs from both bands. Nate grew up worshiping this band and turned me on to them about 5-6 years ago. They are gods of hardcore punk!

4.Loud influences at Born Sick?
We listen to all forms of punk from UK ‘82 to grindcore and thrash. I like a lot of black and death metal but that’s probably because I’m a guitar nerd.  Basically our formula is “go fast, sound crushing, make it evil and dark sounding, shred, kill, repeat”. We try to keep the energy levels high at all times with very few breaks for oxygen.

5.Some members of Born Sick have another project parallel?
Nate and I played in the Hammered Grunts and SpeedWitch out of Portland but at the moment we are all just doing this band. Ryan has a solo project called “Pall Smenis” where he sings about his old life on heroin a lot and shitting his pants etc. It’s acoustic kind of music but fucking good. I usually hate “folk punk” but the homie knows how to do it without being a pussy.

6.Brian explain some more about actual hardcore from your city and recommend some bands.
There aren’t any other hardcore bands from Vancouver, WA that come to mind aside from RKC (Road Kill Carnivore) but I think they are all relocated to Portland. PDX is only 10 minutes from us across the state line and we all know about Poison Idea, Defiance but I have to give it to Cliterati right now. They are fucking brutal. Generation Decline from Bremerton, WA is a great crust/hardcore group, too.

7.Born Sick knows hardcore scene of Southamerica?
I can’t say we know a lot about it but we want to! I checkout Peruvian hardcore comps on YouTube all the time. Bands like Autopsia, KAOS. Guerrilla Urbana. Great classic hardcore. I’m on the hunt for new South American music recommendations!

9.Morbid future plans?
We are starting to hit the festival scene and are booked for some this year and next. We can’t say what festivals yet because they haven’t announced the lineups and shit. We want to play South America and the rest of the world!

Interview - Sneezing Pus

1.Putrid noisy greetings of tomb of Perú,Rene and Noel! How going the sick things at Sneezing Pus? 
Yo Diego! All is good here in the Dutch/Spanish camp.Glad you found out about us!

2.Tell us how is form this aberrant band of loud and twisted goregrind called Sneezing Pus? Hows been the begings? 
We (Noel and Rene) know each other already for a couple of years. Hanging out at Gruesome Stuff Relish shows whenever Noel was coming through The Netherlands. The ball started rolling from there.

3.Excreted discography of Sneezing Pus? 
Well, it's not much but maybe it's better to start at the beginning. We've worked together on a Altar Of Giallo track 8 or 9 years ago, which was featured on the Grind Musick For The Ghouligans CD that came out on EMF Records (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OiHtd_65dTE). 

After that we did an EP for the band Dossier Negro (Black Dossier, named after the legendary Spanish horror comic). Here's a free download of that EP: https://dossiernegro.bandcamp.com/ It features some sick artwork by De Plasma Industries (Pierre from Vomi Noir and Blue Holocaust), just as the Sneezing Pus/Vomi Noir 7" EP.

During the Dossier Negro period, we recorded this little track Pustule (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4OosUj1Otk8&t=0s), which totally reminded us of the old General Surgery and Carcass demos. So after some time we decided to record some extra tracks to make a demo or one half of a split EP, and this became our half for the split with Vomi Noir. We decided to call ourselves Sneezing Pus.

4.Purulent influences at Sneezing Pus? 
Sneezing Pus is ofcourse a straight rip from a General Surgery track. So there you have it, our biggest influence. Of course we also have Carcass, Xysma, Regurgitate... All the classicks.

5.Some members of Sneezing Pus have another proyect paralell? 
We're basically like the Italian B-movie directors from the 70ies and 80ies. Every year we each have 2 new projects. Hahaha
Of course there's Gruesome Stuff Relish and Altar of Giallo. But there's also Boneyard, Galerna, DungeönHammer, Horrid Apparition, Cryptae, Dead Neanderthals, Heavy Natural.... the list is very long. Check some of it out, it's all out there.

6.Rene and Noel explain some more about actual goregrind cene from your city and recommend some bands. 
Rene: I have no idea if there's some good goregrind from my hometown (Nijmegen). But I listen to some good stuff from all over the planet like:
